The hot tub arrived on a Friday in spring. Flawless installation, water at 37 °C, first soak that very evening — then every evening, as a family, sometimes with the neighbours. Ten days of pure bliss. Then, one Tuesday: bubbles that wouldn’t pop. Not three bubbles — a proper crown of white foam thickening with every jet session, and water gone dull. Understanding: a hot tub is not a small pool

Jets on to circulate, cover open to let escape what needs to evaporate. The foam stops re-forming by the next day — the symptom follows the cause.

Step 2: partial water change. Heavily loaded hot tub water stays “worn out” even once sanitised: a third of the volume went down the drain, replaced with fresh water. On 1,200 litres, it’s an hour’s work — and the difference is visible to the naked eye: the water gets its sparkle back.

Step 3: full rebalancing. pH back in range, sanitisation restarted — and, while at it, a switch from the original chlorine to bromine, hot water’s natural sanitiser: effective at 37 °C, discreet on the nose, more stable. The app recalculated all its targets for the new sanitiser.
